| Objective: To study the expression and correlation of COX-2,cyclinD1 in normal parotid gland,pleomorphic adenoma(PA)and carcinoma in pleomorphic adenoma(CPA); and to reveal their roles in the tumor occurrence, recurrence and malignant transformation of PA .Methods: S-P immunohistochemical staining was used to detect the expression of COX-2 and cyclinD1 in 11 cases of normal parotid gland tissues, 32 cases of PA, 8 cases of RPA and 12 cases of CPA.Results: The positive rate of expression of COX-2 in PA and CPA was much higher than that in normal parotid gland tissues (P<0.05), and the difference among PA,RPA and CPA was also significant (P<0.05). The positive rate of expression of cyclinD1 in PA and CPA was significantly higher than that in normal parotid gland tissues (P<0.05), and the difference between PA,RPA and CPA was also significant (P<0.05), but no difference was noted in PA and RPA(P>0.05) ; In addition , the expression of COX-2 and cyclinD1 in PA was obviously correlated ,and the result was the same as that in CPA(P<0.05).Conclusions: The overexpression of COX-2,cyclinD1 in PA and CPA was positively correlated with tumor occurrence, recurrence and malignant transformation, they probably play an important role in the tumor occurrence and development of PA and CPA in the parotid gland. |
