Evaluation On Quality Of Life Of Patients With Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease And Analysis Of Its Influencing Factors

Objective The damage of the COPD patients' lung functions results in respiratory trouble and the decrease of their activity patience,which influences the patients' quality of life(QOL). As a result,the evaluation of the QOL of the COPD patients can reflect completely individual physiological functions,physiological conditions and social life,which is the effective method to assess the COPD patients' healthy levels.In order to know the COPD patients' QOL condition and its influential factors,so as to offer some evidences to improve their QOL,we take advantage of AQ20 questionaire to survey 112 COPD cases' QOL and their possible influential factors.Methods Collective system sampling methods was used to investigate the stable COPD outpatients who came from Meizhou People's hospital from July 2008,to March 2009. Questionnaire methods were used,which included two sections.One is on the patients' general conditions and the possible influential factors of their QOL.The other is AQ20 questionaire, which is completed by the patients during the day when they came to have lung functions tested. The QOL scales covered from 0 to 20.The lower the scales are,the better the COPD patients' healthy conditions are.SPSS13.0 software was used to deal with the data.((?)±S) was used to show the statistics normal distribution.T test was used to compare two groups.Square difference analysis was used to compare various groups.LSD was used to compare double groups.Pearson method was used to count statistics materials or Fisher exact probability wa used to test.Pearson related analysis method and gradual-coming-back method was used to analyze the influential factors of QOL.Results The result showed that the QOL was divided into four grades by scores.The difference of the distribution of the QOL was significant.The health-related QOL of over 60% COPD patients was worse or even worst.The result of the analysis of related Pearson showed that the QOL scales between sex didn't have significant difference.But there were significance of differences of QOL scales among the severity degree of their diseases(FEV₁%grade), smoking status,BMI,family income,educational degree,physical exercise rate and cooking frequency. Conclusion The QOL of the COPD patients was generally lower.The main factors influencing the patients' QOL include the severity degree of their diseases(FEV₁%grade), smoking,BMI,family income,educated degree,frequency of physical exercise and cooking. The patients' QOL can be improved by means of changing harmful living habits and comprehension exercises to recover.
