Applying Total Quality Management Model In Improving Quality Of IUD Insertion Service

BackgroundAt present,China's intrauterine devices(IUDs) have a high failure rate and there is space for improvement in terms of insertion service management.In existing exploration and analysis of the impact of IUD services,there is little data on the quality of IUD insertion service management.ObjectiveThe purpose of this study is using total quality management(TQM) ideas and theoretical framework in order to conduct in-depth analysis on the problems and operations of IUD insertion service.This study suggests effective improvement measures for IUDs and form an IUD quality management model,which can be placed to improve the service quality while protecting and enhancing the reproductive health of women.MethodRelying on the Chinese State Wide Fund for Nature,this paper systematically reviewed the literature of total quality management and IUD insertion services at home and abroad.This study use methods of literature analysis,the Nominal group discussion,the Delphi research method and cases empirical analysis of IUD service quality to give an in-depth analysis of the management factors impacting IUD services.Finally,this study builds a targeted management model-IUD service total quality management model(IUD-TQM model).ConclusionAccording to the analysis of principals,concepts and methods of total quality management and the current situation of IUD insertion services,IUD-TQM model is feasible.IUD-TQM model should include eight key aspects:object-oriented services, manager promotion,IUD management,full participation,full control,evaluation system,continuous improvement and effective decision-making based on facts.SuggestionsIUD-TQM model should be applied to IUD insertion services.Specific measures includes:the establishment of the management of IUD-TQM institutions and IUD-TQM management accountability;improve the informed choice of IUD insertion services;enhance the mechanism of IUD equipments;create a favorable environment for full participation;strengthen IUD staff training;implementing assessment of IUD service quality,and so on.Provide a guide to strengthen quality management,protect the reproductive health of women.
