Object: The purpose of this study was to clarify the clinical significance of the expression of these factors and to evaluate their relationship in vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), VEGF receptor (VEGFR1) (F-1) and VEGF receptor (VEGFR2) (Flk-1) in lung cancer tissue and serum. Methods: Serum level of VEGF, VEGFR1, VEGFR2 in 10 healthy normal controls and 65 cases of lung cancer were detected by ELISA. VEGF, VEGFR1, VEGFR2 in 20 healthy normal controls and 46 cases of lung cancer were detected by immunohistochemistry. The relationship among VEGF, VEGFR1 and VEGFR2 expression and the clinical features was analyzedResults: Serum VEGF and VEGFR2 in the patients of lung cancer of different histological type was significantly higher than in the healthy controls(P<0.01). It is no significant differences that VEGFR1 expression, age, gender and TNM stage between the patients of lung cancer and healthy controls(P>0.05); Tissue VEGF and VEGFR2 in the patients of lung cancer was significantly higher than in the para-cancerous tissues (P<0.01). It is no significant differences that VEGFR1 (P>0.05). It is no significant differences that VEGF, VEGFR1 and VEGFR2 in age, gender and TNM stage (P>0.05);Conclusion: VEGF and VEGFR2 in Serum and tissue of the patients of lung cancer of different histological type was significantly higher than in the healthy controls and the para-cancerous tissues, and VEGFR1 is no significant differences. VEGF, VEGFR1 and VEGFR2 is no significant differences in age, gender and TNM stage.
