| Objective: To evaluatethe effect and value of the anterior decompression in the treatment of cervical spondylotic myelopathy. Methods:We retrospectively studied 38 patients who underwent anterior decompression in the treatment of cervical spondylotic myeloPathy and statistieally compared their JOA score,Nurick grade before and after operation .We also compared two group of different disease course which accompany the cervical spondylotic myelopathy, and study the relation between curative effect of high-signal abnormalities on T2-weighted images .Results: The JOA score rises markedly after operation and the difference is signiflcant in statisties(P<0.05).Nurick grade improved markedly after operation and the difference is signiflcant in statisties(P<0.05).The difference is not significant among groups after operation following-up. The treatment result between two group of different disease course had statistical significance. The treatment result between two group of display or no high-signal abnormalities on T2-weighted images had statistical significance. Conelusion: Anterior decompression is an effective operative method to treat cervical spondylotic myelopathy and can relieve some accompany symptom. We believe enlarged anterior decompression and decompression of the nerve root canal can have much more curative effect. |
