Objective: To evaluate the clinical value of antibody against oxidized low-density lipoprotein level in the diagnosis of atherosclerosis ,compared with the matrix metallproteinase-2 and the matrix metallproteinase-9.Methods: 30 patients with atherosclerosis,67 patients with coronary heart disease(included 36 patients with stable angina and 31 patients with acute myocardial infarction )and 34 healthy control individuals were involved in this study. Serum antibody against oxidized low-density lipoprotein was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Gene expression of the matrix metallproteinase- 2,9 was measured by RT-PCR.Results : 1. Antibody against oxidized low-density lipoprotein was significantly higher in patients with atherosclerosis,stable angina and acute myocardial infarction than it in healthy controls , P<0.05 ;antibody against oxidized low-density lipoprotein was significantly higher in patients with acute myocardial infarction than atherosclerosis and stable angina, P<0.05; there was no statistics difference of antibody against oxidized low-density lipoprotein between patients with stable angina and atherosclerosis, P〉0.05; 2.Gene expression of the matrix metallproteinase-2,9 was higher in patients with acute myocardial infarction than it in patients with atherosclerosis,stable angina and healthy controls, P<0.05; there were no statistics difference of gene expression of the matrix metallproteinase-2,9 in patients with atherosclerosis,stable angina than healthy controls,P〉0.05;there were no statistics difference of gene expression of the matrix metallproteinase-2,,9 between patients with stable angina and atherosclerosis, P〉0.05.Conclusions: Compared with the matrix metallproteinase-2 and the matrix metallproteinase-9, antibody against oxidized low-density lipoprotein has a certain value to evaluate atherosclerosis, especially in early stage.
