Retroperitoneal Laparoscopic Adrenalectomy For Pheochromacytoma Compared With Open Surgery

Objeetive:To evaluate the clinic effects,indications and efficiency of retroperitoneal laparoscopic excision of adrenal pheochromocytoma,and compare with open operation ,and then analyze it to expect to obtain the better way to treat adrenal pheochromocytoma than open operation.Methods: Reviewed 30 patients'clinical data with adrenal pheochromocytoma from March 2002~November 2008 in affiliated union hospital of Fujian Medical University ,among which 10 patients were treated by retroperitoneal lpaoarscopic excision(retroperitoneal lpaoarscopic group) ,the rest by open operation(open group).then compare the two groups and analyze the difference between the two groups with several items including operative time, estimated blood 1oss, amount of blood transfusion and severe fluctuation of blood pressure,functional recovery time of gastrointestinal tract , quantity of draining, extubation time,hospital days after opreration,, frequency of using analgesic and out-of-bed activity time.Results:both operation were succeed,all of them were proved to be adrenal pheochromocytoma by pathology diagnosis,all of the indexs except operation tine of the retroperitoneal lpaoarscopic group are less than the open group.The diversity between the two groups has statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusions:Comparing to open operation,retroperitoneal laparoscopic excision of adrenal pheochromocytoma has it's advantadges including less trauma ,shorter operation time, less blood loss, quicker recovery and so on ,it can be considered as the first choice for tretment of adrenal pheochromocytoma with regard to doctors with experience and are skilled in retroperitoneal laparoscopic surgery.
