Objective To explore the related clinical risk factors of contrast induced nephropathy(CIN) in the elderly undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) and its outcomes. Methods Analyze retrospectively the changes in serum creatinine before and after the percutaneous coronary intervention surgery while contrast media was used.Resultsâ‘ Ether low-osmolality or iso-osmolality contrast media with dosage of (122.14+/-57.58 ml)(60-450ml) was used in all 103 patients. All cases received intravenously hydration.â‘¡7.77%of patients develope CIR.â‘¢Chronic rental insufficiency, chronic congestive heart failure as well as high basic level of serum creatinine are the main risk factors of CIN in the elderly, except variables as increased age, diabetes and hypertention.â‘£All patients with CIN recovered after proper treatment. Conclusions CIN is relatively common in the elderly during PCI,so safely use of contrast media of low toxicity with proper dosage is important.Chronic rental failure and chronic congestive heart failure are the main risk factors of CIN in the elderly. Patients with CIN could recover their rental function after proper treatment.
