Diagnosis And Surgery Of Pituitary Adenoma

Objective:to approach the clinical manifestation,diagnosis and surgery treatment;Methods:to retrospectively study the clinical data of the 99 patients admitted in the Department of Neurosurgery,2^ndAffiliated Hospital during Apr.2008 to Feb.2009Results:of the 99 patients,51 male while 48 female,whose age ranged from 16 years old to 76,the chief complaints were defect of eyesight,headache,menostasia and et.The course lasted for 3d to 8years.CT,especially MRI performed the primary method to discover abnormality of the pituitary gland.All the patients were cured with transphenoidal tumorectomy and diagnosed"pituitary adenoma"by pathology..Conclusion:the pituitary adenoma causes endocrine disturbance,but for more cases,non-specific symptoms such as headache or eye-sight destruction,which disturbs life quality,needs early diagnosis and treatment.Transphenoidal tumorectomy for the advantages of wide indication,microinvasion,short period of hospitalization,low complication possibility,effectively improves the disturbance, and is nowadays the first-chosen treatment for the pituitary adenomas.
