| Objective:To investigate the influencing factors of the compliance of colorectal cancer (CRC) screening in Hangzhou community residents in China.Method:The screening-accomplished group included 95 residents,13 persons refused the follow up,82 persons had finished questionnaire,fecal occult blood test(FOBT) positive and colonoscopy in a CRC screening in communities in Hangzhou in 2004. According to 1:2 ratio,The control A group enrolled 161 residents who finished questionnaire and FOBT positive but refused to accept colonoscopy examination. According to 1:3 ratio,The control B group enrolled 210 residents who refused to take questionnaire,FOBT and colonoscopy examinations.All subjects were asked to complete questionnaires concerning the screening and the related factors.Results:The characteristics,such as age,sex,marriage,occupation,culture and income were comparable between each group(P>0.05).In the screening-accomplished group,the score of the comprehension of the objective and procedures of CRC screening were statistically significantly higher than that of the control groups(P<0.01),as well as the comment of the residents on the CRC screening(P<0.01),the control groups A,the score of the comprehension of the objective and procedures of CRC screening were higher than the control groups B (P<0.05).The reasons for refusing the colonoscopy exams were similar between the two control groups by Mann-Whitney U test(Z=1.54,P>0.05).Conclutions:The more the comprehension of the knowledge of the screening,the more compliance of the screening.Based on the main reasons of the unwilling to receive the colonoscopy screening,we may think to increase the compliance of methods in CRC screening that improving the public awareness of the screening,decreasing uncomfortable feeling of the colonoscopy and putting the coloscopy into heath care system. |
