Clincal Study Of Baoganxiaozhi Granule On Treating Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease With Stagnation Of Liver-Qi And Deficiency Of Spleen Syndrome

Objective: The study validates clinical effect and security for treatment of alcoholic fatty liver with using Baoganxiaozhi granule by observing clinical cases. Meanwhile, we observe the situation in which patients took the granule. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to provide a new candidate medicine for the patients of alcoholic fatty liver disease (AFLD) with stagnation of liver-QI and deficiency of spleen syndrome.Methods: The protocol for this study including 80 patients with AFLD was employed, which was accorded to the income standard. The patients were randomly divided into treatment group (40 cases) and control group (40 cases). The patients took Baoganxiaozhi granule in treatment group, and Dongbaogantai tablet in control group. The period of treatment was 4 weeks in each group. The situation of patients were observed and compared, including the clinical syndrome and sign, the degree of seriousness with B ultrasound checking, and the change of liver and kidney function.Result:①The liver function of treatment group and control group is improved. The ALT, AST andγ-GT of treatment group are improved after treatment, and the difference has statistical significance ( P<0.05 ). Compared with non-treatment, the ALT and AST of control group have remarkable difference after treatment ( P<0.05 ) . Comparing the treatment group with the control group after treatment, the difference has statistical significance (P<0.05) , and the treatment group is superior to the control group.②The total effective rates of the changes in fatty liver' severity degree under B ultrasound for the treatment group and control group is 36.11% and 32.43%, respectively. By the statistics, the difference between the two groups has statistical significance ( P<0.05 ) , and the treatment group is better than the control group.③Compared with the indexes of B ultrasound checking for the two groups, the oblique diameter of right liver and the length of spleen are improved after treatment for the treatment group, and the difference has statistical significance ( P<0.05 ) , but the indexes between the two group do not have statistical difference.④The total effective rates of the TCM syndromes for the treatment group and control group are 94.44% and 89.19%, respectively. The comparison between the two groups has statistical significance (P<0.05) . In addition, in the course of clinical observation, Baoganxiaozhi granule can improve clinical symptoms of the patients with alcoholic fatty liver remarkably, such as hypochondriac pain, abdominal distension, and so on. At the same time, Baoganxiaozhi granule has no obvious side effects.Conclusion: The clinical observation of the groups who take Baoganxiaozhi granule and Dongbaogantai tablet proves that Baoganxiaozhi granule can improve clinical syndromes, the liver function and can depress conspicuously the blood ALT, AST andγ-GT level, relieve the degree of seriousness with B ultrasound checking. So it goes to show that "Baoganxiaozhi granule" is an ideal medicine for treating the AFLD.
