ã€Objective】To observe changes of the vascular dementia (VD) patients'Mini-mental state scale (MMSE), capacity of social behavior (BBS), activities of daily living (ADL) and Chinese medicine syndromes before and after treatment, evaluate the clinical efficacy of scalp acupuncture treating vascular dementia with liver-kidney deficiency and phlegm stasis syndromes.ã€Methods】184 cases enrolled were randomly assigned to the scalp acupuncture group and body acupuncture group. The scalp acupuncture points chooses MS5, MS1 ~ MS4, MS10, MS11 in accordance with international standards.Body acupuncture acupoints select two groups, one group is Shenting, Baihui, Fengchi, Ganshu, Shenshu, and another group is Zusanli, Fenglong, Taichong, Taixi, Sanyinjiao. Two groups are alternately used. They were treated for 3 months, once a day, five times a week. Two groups of patients'MMSE,ADL,BBS and TCM Syndrome were detected before and after treatment, then make statistical analysis.ã€Results】1. MMSE efficacy analysis showed that the scalp acupuncture group significant rate and the total effective rate compared with the control group were significant d ifferences (P<0.05), MMSE scores of both groups before and after treatment were extremely significant difference (P<0.01), increased value of MMSE score scalp acu puncture group was significantly better than the control group (P<0.01), indicate M MSE of both groups were significant improved, scalp acupuncture group was better2. BBS efficacy analysis showed that the efficiency of scalp acupuncture group was significantly better than the body acupuncture group (P<0.01), but the two groups with capacity to improve the total efficienctive rate was no significant difference (P>0.05), BBS scores of both groups before and after treatmentwere extremely significant difference (P<0.01), decreased value of BBS score was no significant difference (P>0.05), indicate BBS of both groups were significant improved, and efficacy no difference.3. ADL efficacy analysis showed that the two groups with activities of daily living to improve the total efficienctive rate was no significant difference (P>0.05), ADL scores of both groups before and after treatment were extremely significant difference (P<0.01), decreased value of ADL score was no significant difference (P>0.05), indicate ADL of both groups were significant improved, and efficacy no difference.4. TCM Syndrome efficacy analysis showed that the scalp acupuncture group significant rate was significantly better than the control group (P<0.01),but the two groups with TCM to improve the total efficienctive rate was no significant difference (P>0.05), TCM scores of both groups before and after treatmentwere were extremely significant difference (P<0.01), decreased value of TCM score scalp acupuncture group was significantly better than the body acupuncture group (P<0.01), indicateTCM of both groups were significant improved, scalp acupuncture group was better.ã€Conclusions】Vascular dementia patients can be significantly improved MMSE,BBS, ADL and TCM Syndrome by scalp acupuncture Treatment. At present, there is no ideal drug in treating VD cases, thereby scalp acupuncture is an effectivenon-drug therapy with the advantages of higher safety, effective and selection convenient, easy to operate and low-cost. |
