| Objective:5-FU and DDP are one of the most basic and effective drugs in treating the esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.TS and GST-πmediate their molecular point and metabolism, respectively. Our research investigate the expression of TS and GST-πin esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, and analyze the correlation between their protein expression and histopathological grade, clinical stage. Methods:The immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of TS and GST-πin 102 surgical resectedcases of formalin fixed, paraffin embedded ESCC tissue sectionsand 28 normal esophageal mucosa, respectively. The results of immunohistochemical staining were categorized into two grades including(-) and(+).Results:TS was positively stained immunohistochemically in 17.86%of normal esophageal mucosa and 42.16%of ESCC, respectively and the difference has statistics significance(P<0.05).The positive expression of TS was related with histopathological grade(P<0.05).We also discovered that the expression level of TS was higher in male patients(46.51%) than female patients(18.75%)(P<0.05).GST-πwas positively stained immunohistochemically in 78.57%of normal esophageal mucosa and 53.92%of ESCC,respectively and the difference has statistics significance(P<0.05).The positive expression of GST-πwas related with histopathological grade(P<0.05).Conclusion:This result suggests that the expression features of TS and GST-πare obviously different between normal esophageal mucosa and ESCC,they can be used as the diagnosis molecular markers for ESCC.It is said that the cells are poorly differentiated when the expression of TS is increased or the expression of GST-πis reduced. |
