Effects On Accommodation, Vergence And Stereopsis After LASIK For Patient With Myopia Of Different Habits Of Wearing Glasses

ObjectTo investigate the effects on accommodation,vergence and stereopsis after LASIK for myopic patients with different habits of wearing glasses,in order to evaluate the clinic value of LASIK from binocular vision function.Methods30 emmetropia and 84 myopia and myopia astigmatism who wanted LASIK from March 2008 to August 2008,aged 18～33 years old were selected from clinic.84myopia were divided into 3 groups by equivalent spherical power.According to status of wearing glasses,they were derided into three groups of continued wearing glasses,interrupted wearing glasses and not wearing glasses.To compare AC/A,phoria and stereopsis acuity before surgery and 3 months after surgery in turn according to their status of wearing glasses and their diopters.ResultsOn the status of wearing glasses,there were significant difference among interrupted wearing glasses,not wearing glasses and emmetropia preoperatively in AC/A,near phoria,near and distant stereopsis.The AC/A was turned up(P＜0.05),near exophoria was turned down(P＜0.05 ) near and distant stereopsis were damaged(P＜0.05).There were significant difference among emmetropia and continued wearing glasses preoperatively on the status of wearing glasses in distant and near stereopsis with high myopia(P＜0.05).AC/A,distant and near phoria would fluctuate according to diopter and stereopsis function would improve postoperation.After three months,there were nonsignificant difference among emmetropia,continued wearing glasses,interrupted wearing glasses and not wearing glasses in AC/A,near and distant phoria(P＞0.05).The near and distant stereopsis were improved in three groups,but not recovered completely in interrupted wearing glasses and not wearing glasses with medium and high myopia.Conelusion Uncontinued wearing glasses would induce their accommodative and vergent parameters such as AC/A,distant and near level phoria abnormally and the impairment of stereopsis.LASIK may effectively correct gerenal myopia.Postoperatively,their AC/A,distant and near level phoria will normalize gradually and LASIK may accelerate the formation of ability of stereopsis vision,espically for myopia with interrupted wearing glasses and not wearing glasses.
