Objective by detecting the serum concentrations of interleukin-6(IL-6), inter -leukin-10(IL-10) and matrix metalloproteinases-1(MMP-1) in patients with coronary artery diseases before and after treatment by different dose Fluvastatin, to research:①the the relationship between serum comcetrations of IL-6,IL-10,MMP-1 and Coronary Heart Diseases;②the changes of the serum levels of IL-6,IL-10 and MMP-1 after Fluvastatin treatment and the mechanisms of Fluvastatin in curing patients with coronaty heart diseases. Methods 51 consecutive patients with CHD were diagnosed by coronary angiography in the hospitalized patients in the first affiliated hospital of Nanhua university. Each one had greater than 50% stenoses of one coronary artery. Serum concentrations of IL-6, IL-10 and MMP-1 were measured in 13 patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI), 18 patients with unstable angina pectoris(UAP), 20 Patients with stable angina pectoris(SAP) and 20 controls, who were no-affected coronary artery diagnosed by coronary angiography, by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA). Then,51 patients with CHD were randomly divided into 2 groups: 40mg group and 80mg group treated by FLuvastatin. After 30 days therapy, the serum level of IL-6, IL-10 and MMP-1 were compared among all groups. Statistical analysis were performed using SPSS 13.0 for PC. Values were expressed as mean±standard deviation ( x±S) for measurement data and number or percentage(%)for enumeration count data. For measurement data, comparisons among different groups were made by one-way analysis of variance(ANOVA)and two groups were made by a two-tailed Student,s t-test or matched t-test; for enumeration count data, comparions made by Pearson chi-square test and Fisher's exact test; For bivariate normal distribution data, correlation was made by Person liner correlation. Difference were regarded as statistically significant when P values was <0.05.Results Serum concentrations of IL-6, MMP-1 were significantly increasd in the AMI and UAP groups in comparison with the SAP and control groups (P<0.01), but no significant difference were found between SAP group and control group (P>0.05); The correlations between IL-6 and MMP-1 had significance (r=0.847 P<0.01). The serum level of IL-6 and MMP-1 were different between 40mg Fluvastatin treatment group and 80mg Fluvastatin treatment group after therapy(P<0.01), the differenc between pre-treatment and post-treatment had significance(P<0.01). Serum concentrations of IL-10 had no variance among all groups.CONCLUSION Serum concentrations of IL-6 and MMP-1 increase in patients with acute coronary syndromes, and may be important to the instability of athero -sclerotic plaque; Serum concentrations of IL-10 had no variance among all groups ; Serum concentrations of IL-6,IL-10 and MMP-1 had no relationships with coronary plaque extent. Fluvastatin can decrease serum level of IL-6 and MMP-1 in patients with CHD, and have a beneficial effect on steadying the plaque.
