Retrospective Study On Therapeutic Effect Of The Traditional Chinese Medicine In Combined Treatment Treating Advanced Stage Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

Objective:To explore the effect of The Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in Combined Treatment treating advanced stage NSCLC by observing the effect of Traditional Chinese Medicine in treating advanced stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).Methods:Retrospective study clinical record of 104 cases of advanced stage NSCLC which consistent with the accepting criteria, and all cases were divided into two groups based different therapy methods .In groupⅠ,53 patients were treated with TCM and western medicine combined therapy. In groupⅡ,51 patients were treated with western medicine combined therapy alone. Using statistical method to analyze the essential informations of the two groups for example, quality of life ,effective power, the changes of tumors, survival rate ,life span, for exploring the effect of The Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) in Combined Treatment treating Advanced Stage NSCLC and existence problems.Results:1. The TCM and western medicine combined therapy group has more older andⅣstage patients ,but there have no significant difference in statistics between them include others essential information(P>0.05).2. The groupⅠhave better effects in the remission of symptoms than groupⅡ(P>0.05). The effective power and stable rate of groupⅠare 24.6% and 71.7%,they are higher than the groupⅡ(21.6% and 56.9%),but there has no significant difference in effective power and stable rate between them(P>0.05).3. The median survival duration and the time to progression(TTP)in both groups are 14.3 vs11.9 month and 6.4 vs 4.9 month(P<0.05).The survival rates in 1st,2nd years are 62%,28%and 54%,16.7%.The comparison of survival rates of 2nd year between two groups was much significantly different(P<0.05) but that of 1st year was no significantly different (P>0.05).4.After second-line therap, the median survival durations of the two groups are 9.6 vs 7.5 months and there was significantly different between each other(P<0.05).Layering the groupⅠinto three groups according to the Second-line therapy:TCM combination chemotherapy ,TCM combination targeted therapy, simple TCM, The median survival duration are 9.2,10.3,8.6 months and there was no significantly different between each other.Conclusion:1. Combined Treatment of TCM and westen therapy is able to improve the quality of life , prolong survival and TTP in non–small-cell lung cancer,in the progress of non–small-cell lung cancer,the TCM should take part in the therapy.2. In the second-line therapy ,the TCM combine chemotherapy or targeted therapy is able to prolong survival of the advanced stage NSCLC,and the TCM is one utility therapy in the second–line therapy of the advanced stage NSCLC...
