| Objective:To retrospectively study the clinical data of 26 children with fulminant myocarditis for improving the level of diagnosis and treatment in this disease.Methods:A total of 26 cases of fulminant myocarditis in children admitted in Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from May 2003 to August 2008 were involved and their clinical features and means of treament were retrospectively analysed.Results:1. Of the 26 cases with fulminant myocarditis,9 cases were male and 17 cases were female, aged from 5 months to 13 years old.2. The clinical features were diversity in 26 patients,the first symptom often was extracardiac display. Of the 26 cases, there were 7 cases with third degree atrial ventricular block (AVB),7 cases with cardio-cerebral syndrome, 14 cases with cardiogenic shock(CGS),16 cases were abnormal in cardiac enzymology and troponin.3. There were 8 cases were improved, 18 cases were died.Conclusion:The onset and progress very quickly, and high mortality was characteritic of children with fulminant myocarditis.And the clinical diagnosis mainly depends on patient's clinical symptoms,signs,ECG and evidences of myocardial injury and so on, emergency rescue is needed as soon as diagnosis made to lower death rate and to improve prognosis. |
