| Objective: To evaluate the effect of PTA and stent after thrombolysis in inferior vena cava and deep vein for Budd - Chiari Syndrome (BCS) patients complicated with thrombosis. Methods: 21 BCS patients complicated with thrombosis were treated with thrombolysis in deep vein or in thrombosis using urokinase, and then 17 of them treated with PTA and stent, and 21 patients compared with 21 patients thrombolysis by intravenous. Results: 21 patients with suprahepatic obstruction or occlusion of inferior vena cava with deep venous thrombosis were confirmed by angiography, and complicated with thrombosis. 21 patients treated with thrombolysis in inferior vena cava had an good effect than thrombolysis by intravenous (P< 0. 01); 13 patients with thrombosis almost completely disappeared, and 5 patients treated with PTA only, 8 patients with thrombosis partially disappeared treated with PTA and stent, 6 patients had thrombosis widely, and 4 of them treated with PTA and stent . 2 cases with bleeding tendency ceased thrombolysis, and they are not cured. Total effective rate is 81%. 21 patients treated with thrombolysis in inferior vena cava had a high intervention effect than thrombolysis by intravenous (P< 0. 01). Patients followed 2 to 72 months (mean 36 months), The main symptoms and signs completely disappeared or obviously improved in 13 cases, 2 cases relapsed, 4 patients had not been cured , and 2 cases lost of follow-up. Conclusion : Thrombolysis in inferior vena cava and deep vein with PTA and stent was an effective and safe method in treatment BCS patients complicated with thrombosis. |
