| Objective: To observe the correlations between the serum concentritation of Insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I ),Insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-II) and clinicalpathologic features, genders and ages in the patients with Gastric Cancer(GC).Method s: Levels of serum IGF-I and IGF- II were detected by the technology of radioimmunoassay (RIA) in 35 cases of GC.The relationships between variations of serum IGF-I and IGF- II with TNM stages system, grade, status of metastasis, age, gender were compared by different statistics methods , which are respetively one way ANOVA, Independent Samples Test,NPar Tests and correlations analysis. Results: The serum concentration of IGF-I of gastric cancer patients in IV stage is significantly higher than that of I stage(p=0.025, p<0.05). The serum concentration of IGF-I of gastric cancer patients with metastasis is significantly higher than that of without metastasis (p=0.007, p<0.05) .There is no significantly Correlation between the serum concentration of IGF-I,IGF-II and genders, ages, grades. The serum concentration of IGF- II was not significant in GC(P>0.05).Conclusion: The elevation of serum IGF- I in patients with gastric cancer may be one of the most important factors for occurrence and development of GC. It may be a sensitive marker of late stage in gastric cancer and can be used to monitor chemotherapy in patients with late stage of GC. The role of IGF- II in GC need to be explored in further study. |
