| Objective There are many kinds of intraradicular post systems for the required restoration of endodontic teeth. To evaluate and compare in a simulation model the fracture resistance and kind of fracture of endodontic teeth restored with two frequently used intra radicular post systems after endo therapy in dental area.Methods Twenty incisors free from calf caries, cracks and fractures were endodontically treated and distributed at random into two groups. Each group was restored with a different intra radicular system:1 prefabricated titanium post (.i-post) 2. prefabricated glass fibre post(cytec post). All the specimens were subjected tocompressive force in a universal test machine (Instron 4202 )until fracture. The results were analysed using the variable analysis test (ANOVA).Results There were only significant .fibre post (cytec). the kind of fracture was approximate to titanium post (.i-post).Conclusions Teeth restored with glass fibre post showed significantly similar fracture resistance values to titanium post. The fractures of teeth restored with glass fibre post were largely reparable. |
