Objective: This study aimed to analyze the cardiac precursor cell (CD34~+ cell) ,vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and angiotensinⅡ(AngⅡ) in patients with idiopathic atrial fibrillation(IAF), in order to investigate the mechanisms of IAF.Methods: 30 patients with IAF as the experimental group and 30 cases without organic heart disease as the control group were involved in this study. The flow cytometry was applied for the measurement of the level of CD34+ cells, ELISA kit was used to determine the concentration of VEGF, and the level of AngⅡwas used to tested by radioimmunoassay.Results: The level of CD34+ cells in the experimental group (19.76±12.08) /μl was higher than that in the control group (12.77±5.95) /μl, the difference was statistically significant (P = 0.006); the concentration of VEGF in experimental group (54.60±40.66) pg / ml was higher than that in the control group (25.13±16.88) pg / ml, the difference was statistically significant (P = 0.001); the level of AngⅡin the experimental group (27.49±18.87) ng / ml compared with that in the control group (22.35±11.50) ng / ml. No significant difference was observed about the experimental group (P = 0.208).Conclusion:1.The level of CD34+ cells in patients with IAF increased significantly, suggesting that IAF maybe result in cardiac cell degeneration, necrosis, fibrosis and apoptosis, and in turn stimulating the mobilization of cardiac precursor cells to replay the death of myocardial cells. 2.VEGF significantly increased, cuing that endothelial dysfunction may be associated with IAF.3.The unchanged level of AngⅡindicated that the application of renin-angiotensin system inhibitors may be related to it.
