Changes Of Serum Uric Acid Levels In Patients With Acute Exacerbation Of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Objective:To explore the changes of serum uric acid levels in patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD).Methods:45 patients with AECOPD were selected by the revised diagnostic criteria of Chinese Respiratory College in 2007 and exclusion criteria.The patients were separated into three groups according to their FEV₁%predicted after the treatment:COPD Stageâ…¡group(n= 15),Stageâ…¢group(n=15),Stageâ…£group(n=15),control group(n=15).The serum uric acid and PaO₂ were detected prior treatment of AECOPD groups;the serum uric acid, PaO₂ and FEV₁%were detected after clinical remission of the AECOPD groups;the serum uric acid,PaO₂ and FEV₁%of the control group were detected too.Results:The results of serum UA in patients with AECOPD of the prior treatment:Stageâ…¡group(357.87±57.06) umol/L,Stageâ…¢group(400.13±51.93)umol/L,Stageâ…£group(483.07±73.65) umol/L, the UA levels of the COPD groups were higher than that of the control group(279.73±43.00) (P＜0.05),and there was significant difference between AECOPD groups and control group (P＜0.05).The results of serum UA in patients with AECOPD of the post-treatment:Stageâ…¡group(316.53±47.16) umol/L,Stageâ…¢group(333.33±48.59) umol/L,Stageâ…£group(380.93±44.54)umol/L,After the treatment,the Serum uric acid levels of the three groups decreased signifcantly(P＜0.05).The results of PaO₂ in patients with AECOPD of the prior treatment:Stageâ…¡group(74.27±8.49)mmHg,Stageâ…¢group(72.53±6.48) mmHg, Stageâ…£group(50.80±4.00) mmHg,the PaO₂ levels of the COPD groups were lower than that of the control group(96.93±2.19)(P＜0.05) mmHg,and there wasn't difference between Stageâ…¡group and Stageâ…¢group(P＞0.05),but there was significant difference between Stageâ…¡group,Stageâ…¢group and Stageâ…£group(P＜0.05).The results of PaO₂ in patients with AECOPD of the post-treatment:Stageâ…¡group(81.27±5.68)mmHg,Stageâ…¢group(79.40±6.40)mmHg,Stageâ…£group(58.47±4.88)mmHg,After the treatment the PaO₂ levels of the AECOPD groups increased signifcantly(P＜0.05).The results of FEV₁%in patients with AECOPD of the post-treatment:Stageâ…¡group(65.47±9.77%),Stageâ…¢ group(38.47±6.39%),Stageâ…£group(22.00±5.22%),they were all lower than the control group(95.27±3.13%)(P＜0.05),the FEV₁%in the post-treatment of AECOPD showed significant difference(P＜0.05).Conclusion:The serum UA levels of the patients with AECOPD are related to the severity of patient's pathogenetic condition.The measurement of uric acid may serveas a simple and economic indicator of the severity of the patients with COPD.
