ObjectiveTo discuss the influence of serum pepsinogen and It,s subgroups(PGâ… ,PGâ…¡)with CA-125 on early diagnosis and peritoneal dissemination of gastric cancer, and to evaluate the effects on diagnosis and prognosis in gastric cancer.MethodRdioimmunoassay and time-resolved fluoroimmunoassay were applied to detect the levels of serum PGâ… ,PGâ…¡and CA12-5 on gastric cancer and other stomach diseases, compared those with the normal control group .The result were analyzed by statistics method.ResultComparing healthy controls with gastric cancer(GC) and It,s different stages cases, the serum PG levels of gastric cancer patients were significantly lower than those of control groups(P<0.01),the early gastric cancer had showed apparent changes(p<0.05), and advanced gastric cancer were even lower(p<0.01). Compared with healthy controls , CA12-5 value in early stage gastric cancer had no difference .But, the serum CA12-5 levels of patients with peritoneal dissemination of gastric cancer were significantly higher(P<0.01). The serum PGâ… ,PGâ…¡levels were changed differently after the operation. The serum of PG decreased grossly in the patients underwent radical total gastrectomy , but PGâ… ,PGâ…¡were elevated remarkably in the recurrent patients.ConclusionDetecting the serum levels of PGâ… ,PGâ…¡and PGâ… /PGâ…¡should be used to screen early gastric cancer. The changes of serum levels CA12-5 are valuable for diagnosis of gastric cancer and monitoring the peritoneal dissemination of gastric cancer.
