[Objective] Investigated the reliability on tumor with core needle biopsy, summarized the clinical diagnostic value of CNB on tumor of oral and maxillofacial and neck, so as to explore its feasibility as a routine biopsy, to guide the follow-up treatment of patients with clinical diagnosis.[Methods] Select 35 cases of hospitalized patients were diagnosed oral and maxillofacial and neck tumors of Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Department of Hematology of the First People's Hospital of Yunnan Province, from April 2009 to March 2010.Request the diameter of tumor greater than 2.0cm and complete routine examination with all cases, exclude contraindications of anesthetic and surgical, launch preoperative speech as to sign truth telling file and operational consent file. The 35 patients according to study was divided into three groups:A group of 10 patients, with core needle biopsy and conventional surgical biopsy at the same time; B group were 11 cases, with core needle biopsy, intraoperative frozen and pathologic examination through accepted the surgical operation after CNB. C group of 14 patients, with core needle biopsy alonely and got a definite diagnosis and underwent appropriate treatment after CNB.35 patients were used to percutaneous puncture biopsy under direct vision by semi-automatic biopsy gun.All specimens were fixed in 10% neutral formalin and by way of conventional histological processing. Observed histopathological result by HE staining and immunohistochemistry SP histological staining. Through image processing and statistical analysis, compare the consistency of pathological diagnosis of each group respectively.[Results] (1) Puncture status:the success rate of the first puncture was 97.14% (34/35); (2) Satisfaction of samples:35 patients were to obtain an adequate amount samples by paracentesis 2 to 4 times per case, the length range was 3-14mm, the length of 95 samples> 5mm, the longest up to 14mm, the average length was 10.6 mm, the satisfaction of samples was 98.96% (95/96); (3) complications of paracentesis:35 cases patients were not appear serious complications such as nerve injury, organ damage nearby, only one case appear postoperative bleeding, and bleeding by suturethe, complication rate was 2.86%(1/35); (4) The same rate of Pathological diagnosis with Core needle biopsy and conventional surgical biopsy was 100.00%(10/10); The same rate of Pathological diagnosis with Core needle biopsy and intraoperative frozen was 100.00%(11/11); The same rate of Pathological diagnosis with Core needle biopsy and postoperative paraffin pathological diagnosis was 90.91% (10/11).[Conclusion] (1) Core-needle biopsy was sensitive, convenient, inexpensive, In addition, surgery required less time, less pain to patients, satisfactory of samples and no serious complications, so CNB was a safe, efficient and effective means of biopsy. (2) Core-needle biopsy derived a high success rate, Samples with high satisfaction and Pathological diagnosis with high accuracy, can be as a effective means of clinical biopsy with oral and maxillofacial and neck tumor.
