Clinical Study Of Efficacy Of Bronchial Asthma Treatedwith Acupoint Application Therapy

Bronchial asthma is the serious influence people health and the survival quality common chronic respiratory disease, the prevalence rate grows year by year, according to surveys the nation to have 10,000,000 above asthma patient at least. At present asthma remission's commonly used treatment method many to inhale the cortical hormone and the bronchodilators and so on. In order to enhance asthma patient to survive the quality, therefore seeks one highly effective, moderately-priced, the low poisonous side effect method of treatment -- Chinese medicine acupoint application therapy is the research project working towards.Objective:To observe the effect on clinical symptom and quality of life of bronchial asthma catabasis with acupoint application therapy,to appraise the curative effect of bronchial asthma treated with Chinese medicine acupoint application therapy.Methods:50 remission stage bronchial asthma cases were randomized to two groups:â‘ treatment group (group A, n=33) ,received traditional Chinese medicine cake (ginger juice and ginger oil mixing with herbal powder of pepper,Semen Sinapis , Herba Asari, Radix Angelicae dahuricae and Radix pterospermi Heterophyllum);â‘¡control group (group B, n=17) received medicine cake(ginger juice mixing with herbal powder of black rice,red rice,corn). Two groups of medicines compound in Guangdong Province Chinese medicine research institute, and on outward appearance, color, hardness and smell similar.Two groups were treated alternativly with acupoint application therapy on acupoint group 1(Dazhui,Shenshu, Feishu, Pishu) and acupoint group 2(Tiantu,Tanzhong,Qihai ,Guanyuan,Zusanli).The therapies were twice per week,8 times in total.Obseving the changes of their sings and symptoms and quality of life before and after treatment by AQLQ(include ability of daily activities, invironment influence and clinical symptom) .Determine the change of level of blood EOS, the forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV1) accounting for the predicted vital capacity percentage(FEV1%) and FEV1 taking forced vital capacity (FVC) percentage(FEV1/FVC).Results:The age,sex and educational status of two groups had no remarkable difference (P>0.05).â‘ Result of AQLQ:the scores of ability of daily activities, invironment influence,clinical symptom and the total score of AQLQ obviously enhanced post treatment in group A(P<0.01). Except clinical symptom,the differences were significant (P<0.05) between group A and group B.â‘¡Result of symptomatography: the scores of day's symptom and night's symptom obviously declined post treatment in group A. The differences were significant (P<0.05) between group A and group B & pre and post treatment of group A(P<0.05).â‘¢Result of lung function :there was no significant difference between group A and group B on FEV1% and FEV1/FVC(P>0.05).â‘£Result of EOS:blood EOS count decreased significantly in group A after treatment(P<0.05). Conclusion also suggests:while there was no significant difference between group A and group B.There was no correlation between the changes of Blood EOS count and score of AQLQ.Conclusion:â‘ Chinese medicine acupoint application therapy can increase effectively the quality of life of of the asthma patients.â‘¡Chinese medicine acupoint application therapy can decrease the frequency of asthma attacks.And can relieve symptoms effectively.â‘¢Chinese medicine acupoint application therapy can relieve symptoms effectively.
