| ObjectiveTo detect the expression and distribution of transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1) and basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) under two fixation methods in mandibular angle fracture healing so as to explore the effect of two fixation methods on the expression and distribution of TGF-β1and bFGF during fracture healing.MethodsTo choose 18 mongrel dogs and single mandible fracture models of 16 mongrel dogs were established. These 16 mongrel dogs were randomly divided into 2 groups, Group A and group B.8 of them were fixed in middle check of mandible with a single titanium plate and the other 8 were fixed with two titanium plates:one was near the tooth and another was near the bottom of mandible. Another 2 mongrel dogs as group C were used as control. Animals of experimental group were executed at 3d,7d,14d,28d and group C was executed on the day of the operation. The staining positive indexes of TGF-β1 and bFGF were calculated with immunohistochemistry technique and image analyzer.Results1. TGF-β1 began to express on 3d after fracture and gradually increased, and achieved pinnacle on the 14d after fracture and then decreased. There were significant differences between group A and group B on the 7d,14d, and 28d after fracture. Specific for:group B is better to group A (P<0.05). The both groups were different from group C (P<0.05).2. bFGF began to express on 3d after fracture and gradually increased, and achieved pinnacle on thel4d after fracture and then decreased. There were significant differences between group A and group B on the 7d and 14d, after fracture. Specific for: group B is better to group A (P<0.05). The both groups were different from group C (P<0.05).Conclusions1. Internal fixation of double titanium plates may lead to a higher expression of TGF-β1 and bFGF in mandible angle fracture healing, thus Promote fracture healing.2. The expression between TGF-β1 and bFGF shows that they had good concordance during facture healing. |
