ObjectiveTo explore the clinical characteristics of peutz-jeghers syndrome and its canceration, Provide clinical information for early diagnosis and effective treament.MethodsAll articles published in Chinese between 1995 and 2009 were searched within the Journal Library of China Hospital Knowledge Database,PJS was used as the key word for searching. Data 240patients were extracted and then analyzed.Results116 patients(51.7%) definite family histories were found.Pigmentation of skin and mucosa, abdominalgia and intussusception,gastronintestinal bleeding were major clinical manifestations of the syndrome. Most initial symptoms is abdominalgia (58 patients,24.2%), most symptoms is intussusception,most polys were present in colon and recta(148 patients,61.7%) The pathological type of most polys were hamartom (116 patients,51.7%) and adenoma(101 patients,42.1%), and (49 patients,24.2%) developed malignancy, The mean age of canceration diagnosed patients was 33 years old.ConclusionsThe incidence rate of PJS were observed to increase in resent years, The incidence of malignant tumor is obviously higher after 30 years old with family histories, hamartoma-adenoma-cancerSequence exists in PJS patients, Some hamartomas and adenomas should be treated as premalignant lesions.
