Changes Of D-dimer Levels After Hip Arthroplasty Of Patients Elderly With Treatment Of Buyanghuanwu Decoction

Objective:To observe the dynamic changes of D-dimer in old patients after hip arthroplasty treated with Buyanghuanwu decoction and the safety of Buyanghuanwu Decoction, thus providing clinical evidence for Buyanghuanwu decoction in prevention of deep vein thrombosis after hip arthroplasty.Methods:40 patients were distributed randomly into two groups:control group (group A) and treatment group (group B).Patients of group A are treated with SanQi oral liquid while patients of group B are treated with Buyanghuanwu decoction from the operation day to the 9th day after operation. The main observing indexes are plasma D-dimer levels on preoperatively day 1 and postoperatively days 1,3,5,7, 9 and the limb swelling ratio on postoperatively days 1,9.Results:â‘ D-Dimer levels were significantly raised in all patients of the two groups after hip arthroplasty operation. The elevated levels followed a similar trend to that a double-peaked distribution with peaks at days 1 and 7 postoperatively.â‘¡There was no statistical difference between the preoperative D-dimer levels in our study groups (P>0.05) while obvious difference has been found between postoperative D-dimer levels of the two groups (P<0.05).â‘¢There was no statistical difference between limb circumference levels on preoperatively day 1, and limb swelling ratio on postoperatively days 1,9 also has been found no statistical difference of the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusion:Buyanghuanwu decoction can obviously reduce the plasma D-dimer levels after hip arthroplasty in old patients so that it can reduce the incidence of lower limbs deep vein thrombosis. Buyanghuanwu decoction is a classic formula of replenishing qi and activating blood, it reflects one of the basic characteristics of TCM, pattern identification, and It is worth clinical popularizing.
