Objective:To investigate the expression of NRP-1 in cell clear renal cell carcinoma(ccRCC) and its role in tumor formation.Methods:Steptative—peroxidase-biotin immunohistochcmistry technique was used to detect the expression of NRP-l in fifty-six ccRCC and twenty-five normal renal tissues.SPSS 13.0 statistical package was used to analyze the difference between the expression of ccRCC and normal renal tissues, and the relationship between the expression of NRP-l and the clinicopathological festures in ccRCC.Results: 1)In ccRCC tissue, intensity of staining of NRP-1 was more higher than normal renal tissue, there was a significant difference(P<0.05)(2) NRP-1 expression in ccRCC is related to Furman levels and TNM staging, intensity of staining of Furman levelIII,IV is higher than I,IIlevels, there was a significant difference (P<0.05); intensity of staining of TNM staging levelIII,IV is higher than I,IIlevels, there was a significant difference (P<0.05); but its expression has no relationship with age and gender (P>0.05)Conclusion:(1) In ccRCC tissue, intensity of staining of NRP-1 was mroe higher than normal renal tissue ,implying that NRP-1 may be involved in the process of ccRCC.(2) NRP-1 expression in ccRCC has correlation with Furman levels, TNM staging , implying that NRP-1 may be a negative prognosis factor of ccRCC.
