| Objective:our goal was to obtain the prevalence of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) of urban residents living in Jinan, to learn the actual state of diagnosis and treatment and to explore the possible related risk factors.Methods:A cross-sectional study with multi-stage stratified random sampling method used to select subject aged≥40-year-old was performed. A certain questionnaire,which was designed with reference to the epidemiologic questionnaire made by the program of COPD burden of GOLD committee and as well the practical situations of china, was accepted by each subject.Then the CHEST HI-801 spirometer was used to test the lung function of the ones finished the questionnaire. The diagnosis of the case with COPD was based on the standard made by the COPD group of Chinese Medical Association(2007 version)Results:According to the sampling rules,2467 subjects should be included, Actually 2055 subjects finished the questionnaires and spirometry, The overall prevalence of COPD of the urban residents in Jinan was 7.6%(156/2055),12.2%(111/156) in males and 3.9%(45/156) in females.84 cases used to be confirmed cases, only 37 cases accepted regular treatment,whilethe asymptomatic cases occupied 30.8%(48/156). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis was performed to find that the main factors affecting the state of COPD were smoking; male; older;low economic income and family history of respiratory disease. Conclusions:The overall prevalence of COPD of the urban residents in Jinan was 7.6%, the actual state of diagnosis and treatment is far from satisfactory, Then the related risk factors of COPD were in relation to individual, family, society and so on... |
