Objective:To research and compare the therapeutic effect of Oxycodone hydrochloride controlled-release tablets and Morphine sulfate controlled-release tablets on the visceral cancer pain. Methods:Total of 72 patients with visceral cancer pain were randomly assigned into two groups:OO Group were treated by Oxycodone hydrochloride controlled-release tablets, MO Group were given Morphine sulfate controlled-release tablets. According to the principle of NCCN (2008), the two groups were titrated by morphine, and then diverted to controlled-release agent. An oral dose ratio of 1:1.5-1:2.5 for oxycodone to morphine is usually recommended, we adopted the conservative 1:1.5 ratio to be effective. The visual analogue scale (VAS) was kept smaller than 3. The two groups' side effects and the rescue analgesic doses were recorded after the application of the controlled-release agent; the two groups' cost-effectiveness was analyzed. Measurement data was presented as mean±SD.Data analysis was tested by t test and x2 examination with SPSS 15.0 was accepted as the limit of significance.Results:1. General InformationThere were no differences in the common data among all patients.2. Total amount of release agentTotal amount of release agent of OO group is (394.59±283.45)mg. Total amount of release agent of MO group is (810.29±490.84)mg.3. The average amount of rescue analgesic consumption The rescue morphine analgesic consumption was higher in patient receiving morphine, compared to patients receiving oxycodone.4. Side effectsThe occurrence rates of constipation, nausea, vomiting, itching of the 00 group were lower than that of the MO group.5. The effective rate of pain relieveNo statistical difference was noted in the effective rate of pain relieve between the two groups. CR oxycodone has been shown to be as effective as CR morphine in the treatment of visceral cancer pain.6. Cost Effectiveness AnalysisThere was no statistical difference in effective rate of relieves pain and cost-effectiveness.Conclusion:The two drugs have notable analgesic effect in the visceral cancer pain. Considered gastrointestinal tract side effects and the rescue analgesic dose, Oxycodone hydrochloride controlled-release tablets surpass the Morphine sulfate controlled-release tablets. Oxycodone hydrochloride controlled-release tablets may be a potential regimen for visceral cancer pain.
