AimMicoorganism is a important source for drug discovery. More than 30% drug in clinical treatments are from micribiol origin, and the ratio is more higher in antibiotic area. Now 67% of antibiotic products in the world drug market are come from microorganisms. Bacillus is the largest genus in Bacillacease, and is one of three major sources for antibiotic. In order to discovery of new antibacterial compound from Bacillus, and support research evidence for the development of new drugs. We have systematically investigated the secondary metabolites of Bacillus pumilus in this thesis.MethodModern chormatographic techniques, including Silica gel CC, reversed-phase Silica gel CC, Sephadex LH-20 CC, RPLC, TLC, were used in the experiment. The structres were elucidated on the basis of spectral methods.ResultsThirty-three compounds were isolated from the EtOAc extracts of the Bacillus pumilus.ConclusionThe structure of these compounds were identified on the basis of chemical physical characteristic and spectral methods, together with comparing with spectral data with the known compounds. Thirty-three compounds were elucidated as (+)-nonactic acid (1), (-)-homononactic acid (2), bishomononactic acid (3), ethyl nonact-ate (4), ethyl homononactate (5), (5-isopropyl-tetrahydrofuran-2-yl) methanamine (6), homononactyl-nonactate (7), ethyl nonactatyl-nonactoate (8), ethyl homononactatyl-nonactate (9), ethyl homononactatyl-nonactate (10), ethyl homononactatyl-homono-nactoate (11) 3-((1H-indol-3-yl)methyl)-6-sec-butyl piperazine-2,5-dione (12),3-((1H-indol-3-yl)methyl)-6-isopropylpiperazine-2,5-dione (13),3-sec-butyl-6-isobutylpipera-zine-2,5-dione (14),3-isobutyl-6-isopropyl-piperazine-2,5-dione (15),4',5,7-trihydro -xyisoflavone (16),4',7-dihydroxyisoflavone (17),4',7-dihydroxy-6-methoxyisoflav-one (18), 1H-indole-3-carboxylic acid (19), 1H-indole-3-carbaldehyde (20), 2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)acetic acid (21),2-(2-((Z)-5-hydroxypent-2-enyl)-3-oxocyclopen-tyl)acetic acid (22), soyasapogenol B (23), N-(4-oxopentyl)acetamide (24), (E)-3-(methylthio)acrylic acid (25),10-methylundecanoic acid (26), tridecanoic acid (27), 12-methyl-tetradecanoic acid (28), pentadecanoic acid (29),9,10-methyleneoctade-canotic acid (30), hexadecanoic acid (31),9-hexadecanoic acid (32), 11-hydroxy-10-methyldodecanoic acid (33). Among them,7compounds are new (4-6,8-11). All of these compounds were isolated from Bacillus pumilus for the first time.
