objectiveInquiring into the related dangerous factors about congenital choledochalcyst cancer.MethodsAnalysing retrospectively clinical and pathological data (December 1994 December 2009)about85 patients with Congenital bile duct cysts, who were admitted to general surgery of the First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University. We compared and analyzed the relevant factors of leading to cyst Carcinogenesis.Through a single factor analysis and multivariate analysis we selected the relevant dangerous factors of malignant transformation of cysts.Results11 cases of cancer happened among 85 cases of congenital bile duct cysts,.cancer probability wasl2.9%, The results of single-factor analysis was that there is statistical significance among cholecystitis (p<0.05) and age (p<0.01)and bile duct cysts Carcinogenesis. However, there is not statistical significance between gender, place of residence, abdominal pain, jaundice, abdominal mass, fever, nausea or vomiting, cholangitis, bile duct stones, gallbladder stones, historyof biliary drainage and bile duct cyst with malignant transformation (P>0.05). The result of multivariate analysis was that age (P= 0.003) (OR=1.093) is an independent dangerous factor aboutCancerous Cyst.ConclusionAge and repeated biliary duct cyst infections are dangerous factors which lead to bile ductcysts Carcinogenesis. once bile duct cysts is found, the cysts shouldbe removed to prevent malignant transformation.
