ObjectiveIn this paper, eight cases of thalamus infarction in patients with cognitive function assessment, analysis of different parts of the thalamus infarction and cognitive dysfunction in the relationship and characteristics.MethodsThe CT/MRI imaging examination to determine thalamus infarction,8 cases of only the exact right thalamus infarction without obvious brain lesions in other functional areas of the thalamus infarction patients and eight healthy people mini-mental Intelligence Scale (MMSE) and Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale score, and for each sub-item scale to compare the two groups one by one, while the hypothalamus in accordance with 5 arterial anatomy of the region are divided into four subtypes, analysis of different parts of the thalamus infarction and cognitive dysfunction and its disorder characterized by relationships.ResultsMMSE Tip:The case group in the directional force, note that calculation, delayed memory and the structure and so on was significantly lower than the control group (paired test, t=3.47,2.50,3.10,5.29,2.65 P<0.05) The remaining indicators was no significant difference between the two groups. Montreal Cognitive score prompted the case group in the visual space and implementation capacity, naming, delayed recall and calculation of areas was significantly lower than the control group (paired test, t=4.97, 2.38,5.30,2.83, P<0.05), the remaining indicators, no significant difference between the two groups. The 8 patients in the thalamic geniculate artery infarction (GTA 2 cases), mainly for the mild to moderate memory loss, visual-spatial and language fluency disorders; hypothalamus nodular artery infarction (TTA 3 cases) the most outstanding performance with the language barrier as the main (left), and partial body neglect (right), and were accompanied by varying degrees of dementia; thalamic perforating artery infarction (PP 3 cases), mostly the hypothalamus dementia, a fictional, near memory impairment, personality change, initiative, and the time and place disorientation, and language barriers or other psychological symptoms.ConclusionsThalamus infarction and cognitive dysfunction is directly related to the different parts of the mound cognitive impairment caused by cerebral infarction have different characteristics, and the thalamus infarction caused by cognitive and memory impairment are still the main obstacle to an early, multi-accompanied by visual-spatial and implementation capacity, attention and calculation, etc. decreased in varying degrees.
