However,characterized by the structure of ortho-chinone or para-chinone, tanshinones are hydrophobic which leads to low bioavailability.Therefore, the salvia miltiorrhiza raw material extracting is usually alcohol extraction and then water extraction.Extracting two kinds of ingredients synchronously is time-consuming effort and does not favor raising production benefit.Microemulsion is made from oil phase, surfactant, cosurfactant and water phase. The oil phase and water phase can contain different physical and chemical properties of the the ingredients, especially different solubility of chemical ingredients, not only used as the carrier of hydrophobic drugs, but also as water-soluble drugs carrier, which can play a synergy between the components.The experiment take the microemulsion as the extraction solvent,ultrasonic extracting liposoluble and water-soluble ingredients from salvia miltiorrhiza, taking tanshinoneâ…¡A and danshensu as the indexes, determinating the content of indexes by HPLC and optimizing the microemulsion prescription by using ternary phase diagrams and uniform design.Eventually,Finalized ethyl acetate, Tween 80 and ethanol were the compositions of microemulsion components.
