| Objective:This research was to investigate the levels of adiponecin and visfatin in pre-and postmenopausal women, the relationship between the two variables, and other factors.Method:During Oct 2009 to Nov 2009,100 women were selected from the medical examination center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University. The subjects were divided into premenpausal group(n=51,45.22±3.68 yr)and postmenopausal group (n=49,57.78±4.41 yr) accoding to whether they were menopausal or not. The human body dimensions parameters, biochemical indicators, and the levels of adipone-ctin and visfatin in plasma were detected. The levels of adiponetin and visfatin were measured by radioimmunoassy (RIA) and enzyme-linked immunoassay(EIA) respectively. Results:The level of adiponectin of premenopausal group (7.73±3.89ng/ml)was signifcantly lower than postmenopausal group (10.33±4.90ng/ml),(P<0.01). The level of visfatin of premenopausal group (596.67±177.16ng/ml) was not significantly different (P>0.05) from postmenopaual group(653.39±172.75ng/ml). The levels of APN and visfatin did not have siginificant correlations to each other(P>0.05). Pearson correlation analysis showed that the level of APN in plasma was negatively correlated with weight, WC, BMI, TC, TG, LDL-C, FPG, WBC(P<0.05),and was positively related to age, HDL-C(P<0.05), but there were no correlation between the levels of visfatin and the other factors.Multivariable logistic regression analysis confirmed that Age, TG, FPG were independent risk factors to affect the expression of plasma adiponectin. The level of plasma visfatin was positively correlated with weight, WC, BMI (P<0.01), but no correlations with other factors, Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed thatHight, BMI, HDL-C, LDL-C were independent risk factors to affect the expression of plasma adiponectin. Conclusion:The adiponectin levels of premenpausal women are significantly lower than postmenopausal women. The visfatin levels of premenopausal women and postmenopausal women are not significantly different. APN level does not have siginificant correlation with visfatin level. |
