Objective:This paper mainly deals with the clinical observation of the efficacy of governor-vessel and umbilical moxibustion for ankylosing spondylitis (short for AS) induced by spleen and stomach deficiency, which will put forth a reliable adjuvant therapy for the treatment of AS by governor-vesssel moxibustion, and the mechanism of which is approved by changes of CD80 indicators. Methods:30 cases of ankylosing spondylitis patients of spleen and stomach deficiency were screened to observ respectively if there were significant difference in symptoms, signs and laboratory indicators of each patient before and after the treatment. Results:After one course of this treatment, by statisticl processing,30 patients'auto-control before and after the treatment shows significant (P<0.05) or extremely significant (P<0.01) difference in symptoms, signs and laboratory indicators. Conclusion: Combination of governor-vessel and umbilical moxibustion can effectively improve symptoms of AS induced by spleen and stomach deficiency, and changes of laboratory indicators reveal its mechanism. At the same time, preliminary study holds that CD80 plays an important role in AS induced by spleen and stomach deficiency, which is worth further study.
