| Objective: To measure serum fibroblast growth factor-21(FGF-21) levels and analyze its relationships with some indexs in type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) patients and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD), dicuss the effect of FGF-21 in the development of NAFLD.Methods: According to the diagnostic criteria of diabetes and NAFLD, all subjects were divided into three groups: 30 normal control subjects (NC group) ,34 subjects with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T group) and 34 subjects with type 2 diabetes mellitus and NAFLD(FT group). Serum FGF-21 levels were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) and analyzed its relationships with some indexs by bivariate and multivariate regression.Results:⑴The body mass index(BMI), systolie blood pressur (SBP), waist circumference(WC), fasting blood glucose(FBG), postprandial blood glucose (PBG2h), fasting insulin (FINS), homeostasis model assessment-Insulin resistance(HOMA-IR), totaleholesterol(TC), triglyeeride(TG), low density lipoprotein (LDL) of FT group and T group were significantly higer than NC group(P<0.05 or P<0.01).The diastolie blood pressur(DBP),aspartate aminotransferase (AST),alanine aminotransferase (ALT) of FT group were higher than NC group(P<0.05 or P<0.01).The BMI, SBP, WC, FINS, HOMA-IR,TG , ALT of FT group were higher than T group(P<0.05 or P<0.01).⑵Serum FGF-21 levels of FT group and T group were significantly higer than NC group(266.55±21.24, 220.32±22.68 vs 173.52±16.18, P<0.01),and its levels were notably higer in FT group than in T group(266.55±21.24 vs 220.32±22.68, P<0.01).⑶Serum FGF-21 levels correlated positively with HOMA-IR ,WC, BMI , FINS ,TG , FBG , TC , PBG2h , LDL(r=0.591, r=0.569, r=0.498, r=0.457, r=0.388, r=0.359, r=0.316, r=0.275, r=0.273, P<0.01),multiple regression analysis showed that HOMA-IR ,WC , LDL were independent related factors influencing serum FGF-21 levels(P<0.05).Conclusions:⑴T2DM with NAFLD patients'serum FGF-21 levels were notably higer than not with NAFLD patients,and serum FGF-21 levels were closely related with insulin resistance , obesity and lipid.⑵FGF-21 may contribute to the development of NAFLD. |
