Objective:140 cases of lumbar disc herniation patients were followed up retrospectively for clinical research, observation of functional exercise on lumbar spine stability of the curative effect and to analyze and summarize the curative effect of functional exercise to improve lumbar stability role, so that clinicians and postoperative patients have a comprehensive understanding of functional exercise, better clinical practice to improve efficacy. Methods:Selected in our hospital between 2008.1-2010.1 with simple discectomy for lumbar disc herniation hospitalized patients, according to whether the system functional exercise is divided into study group and control group, by telephone contact, clinic follow-up, in the form of the questionnaire Patients now know signs, symptoms and imaging data, and records of the symptoms, signs and imaging studies were compared to change. Observation of functional exercise and the relationship between lumbar spine stability, and analyze causes.Result:(1) two groups of lumbar curvature, lordosis index, sacral inclination angle was statistically significant difference (P<0.05). (2) There were different degrees of intervertebral space loss in the control group and study group no significant difference (P> 0.05). (3) through the follow-up questionnaire, Comparative study group and control group, JOA score, VAS score low back pain, straight leg.raising test scores, the signs and symptoms score were significantly different (P<0.05).Conclution:(1) positive, the system of functional exercise, can improve patients with lumbar disc herniation operation is efficient, lumbar disc herniation patients with functional training system has a definite clinical effect, worthy of further research and extension. (2) system function by increasing the back muscle exercise, leg muscle, abdominal muscle strength and coordination, etc. to improve the stability of the spine exogenous, and through "skeletal muscle" to influence the enhancement of endogenous spinal spine stability. (3) system on the maintenance of functional exercises spinal balance, especially for spinal balance of play inside and outside the protective effect of better prevention and treatment of low back pain recurrence plays a key role. (4) physiological structure and function of lumbar deflected change with age, active, functional training system while not directly change the degenerative trend, but can slow down the degeneration caused by low back pain and other symptoms of the time.
