Expression Of Survivin And HTERT And Their Correlation In Esophageal Cancer

Objective: To evaluate the expression and compared their correlations of survivin and human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT),and their relation with the clinical pathological factors in esophageal cancer.Methods: 52 cases of in esophageal cancer tissues,30 cases of tumor adjacent tissues and 7 cases of noncancerous esophageal mucosa were selected randomly and regarded as groupⅠ,groupⅡand groupⅢrespectively. Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) was used to measure the expression level of survivin and hTERT in these three groups,then we analysised the sequence of PCR products of survivin and hTERT gene.Results:1.The positive expression rate of survivin and hTERT in groupⅠ,groupⅡand groupⅢwas 88.5%(46/52),83.3%(25/30)and 28.6%(2/7), 92.3%(48/52),93.3%(28/30)and 14.3%(1/7)respectively.The expression rate of survivin and hTERT in groupⅠa nd groupⅡwere significantly higher than groupⅢ(P<0.05),while groupⅠexpressed a similar level with groupⅡ( P>0.05).2.The expression of Survivin and hTERT in esophageal cancer tissues have no correlation with patient′s age,pathological types,the tumor differentiation,ivasion of depth tumors,lymph node metastasis and clinical stage(P>0.05) . 3.The expression of hTERT has relationship with the expression of survivin in esophageal cancer tissues(P<0.05).Conclusion: The expression of survivin and hTERT played a important role in the carcinogenesis of esophageal carcinoma. The expression of survivin and hTERT in esophageal cancer was regarded as an early event,it may be significant for the early dignosis and related therapy of esophageal cancer by combinative detection of these genes.
