Cross Sectional Study On Academic Experience Of Professor Zhao Guan-ying In Diagnosising And Treating Stomachache And Stuffiness

[Object] Exploring by the method of case analysis of clinical epidemiology survey methodology and Mathematical Statistics, adopting the real-time Out-patient cases of patients suffered form stomachache and stuffiness who treated by Professor Zhao Guanying, and analysis them to summarize Professor Zhao Guanying' s academic thought and clinical experiences in curing stomachache and stuffiness. and try to investigate a new thinking and method of researching and inheriting academic thought, clinical experience of famous and old doctor on Chinese medicine. Exploring by the method of hermeneutics to explain the data collected, to investigate a new thinking and method of researching and inheriting academic thought, clinical experience of famous and old doctor on Chinese medicine. Trying to use the concepts of "major aspect","minor aspect","pharmaceutical group","symptom group" to analysis the data, exploring the way to use the method.[Method] Guided by the Chinese medical theory, uniting the principles of hermeneutics and case analysis of clinical epidemiology survey methodology and Mathematical Statistics, adopting 163 patients suffered form stomachache and stuffiness who treated by Professor Zhao Guanying, establish a database, and get the result by SPSS16.0 software mange descriptive statistics,use the X2 test or t test, P<0.05 is regarded as statistically significant.[Result]1. Gender and age:including 163 patients, male to female ratio 0.55:1, the minimum age is 15 years, maximum age is 82 years, average age of 46.3±12.6 years, with the largest number of 41-60 year-old age group.2. Syndromes distribution: the common symptoms are: gastric distention,thin taste,stomachache,belching and acid regurgilation,obstructed defecation,chest suffocated,tired,fixed pain,rejected pressing pain,gastric discomfort]。Red tongue and thin white coating are most common tongue manifestation. Taut pulse have highest frequency in pulse condition. Among the above, gastric distention as well as belching and acid regurgilation, gastric distention,stomachache as well as belching and acid regurgilation, chest suffocated,chest distention, dry mouth as well as bitter taste have a high frequecy of appearing in the same time, which are defined as symptom groups.3. Syndromes distribution:the functional incoordination of liver and stomach syndrome is the most common syndrome of the main symptoms, weakness of the spleen and stomach syndrome is the second one and damp-heat in the spleen and stomach syndrome is the third one. indigestion is the most common syndrome of the accompanying symptoms.4. commonly used prescription:in the commonly used prescription of the 163 prescriptions, the prescriptions used more than 10% are: cold limbs powder (58.3%), four gentleman decoction (23.3%), pinelliae decoction for purging stomach-fire (17.2%), capejasmine and fermented soybean decoction (11.0%); and the accompanying prescription which frequency higher than 10% are zuojin pillls and four gentleman decoction.5. summarizing the rule of medicines:in the 163 prescriptions of the patients suffered from stomachache and stuffniss, the average of the drugs is 14.5±2.1, the herb which frequency more than 20% are Maiya,Shenqu,Dangshen,Shanzha,Baishao,Zhike,Chaihu,Jineijin,Huanglian,Gancao,Baizhu,Foshou,Huangqi,Fuling,Qingpi,Gualou,Wuzhuyu,Gualou,Huangqin,Zhizi,Banxia,Lianqiao,Wuyao,Houpu,Yiyiren,Douchi. Make the herbs into 10 types and the frequency shows that:drug for regulating qi flow and the live> drug for heat-clearing >drug for excreting water and dampness > drug for helping apetite > durg for promoting blood circulation by removing stasis >drug for Nourishing Qi and spleen >drug for Nourishing blood > drug for dispelling internal cold>drug for resolving dampness >drug for soothing nerves. And drug for regulating qi flow and the live has the hignest frequency[Conclusion]1.From the investigation, we found that female in middle age are the people most suffered from the stomachache and stuffniss. Most people suffered stomachache and stuffniss is in the age of 40-60. The most common symptoms are stomachache,gastric distention,belching and acid regurgilation. The pink tongue,thin white coating and taut pulse are most commonly. The frequency of the functional incoordination of liver and stomach syndrome is the highest as the main symptoms, and the one of the weakness of the spleen and stomach syndrome is the second highest. The frequency of the indigestion is the highest as the accompanying symptoms. The frequency of the cold limbs powder is the highest as the main prescription, and the one of the four gentleman decoction is the second highest. The frequency of the zuojin pillls is the highest as the accompanying prescription. Drug for regulating qi flow and the live is the most commonly used, drug for helping apetite is the second one and drug for Nourishing Qi and spleen is the third one.
