| [Background]Depression is the current physical and mental disease which against humanity and frequently occurring.It is the one of the most common mood disorder, It is a group of significant and sustained performance of affective disorder, the disease showed the mood was low, more than two weeks, accompanied by corresponding changes in thinking,behavior,and recurrent, intermittent period of normal behavior, no residual personality defects. As social and economic development and changes in disease spectrum, depression to human health, social stability and economic development has caused tremendous harm. Therefore, more and more people pay attention to the depression.Acupuncture is the important part of medicine. Clinical practice shows that acupuncture can alleviate to some extent, the symptoms of depression, and no significant side effects. Acupuncture and electroacupuncture treatment of depression in clinical acupuncture commonly used method, both in animal experiments and in clinical trials, both of which can relieve the clinical symptoms of depression, but the mechanism and means of the two the existence of similarities and differences, yet the lack of attention and study.Pathogenesis of depression has not yet been completely clarified. The incidence of depression and hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis (HPA axis), neuron survival and apoptosis are closely related. Therefore, the topics chosen for the rat model of chronic stress were observed acupuncture and electroacupuncture on rat model of chronic stress HPA axis. To discover the different effects of the treatment of depression between acupuncture with electroacupuncture.[Research methods and results]1. Through the open field test, sugar test, weight measurement used to evaluate whether chronic stress model of depression copied successfully established. In the rat model of chronic stress on the success of reproduction using real time quantitative PCR (RT-PCR) detection of CRH mRNA content in the hypothalamus. The results showed that:the control group, acupuncture group blank outline clear hippocampus, frontal cortex cells arranged in neat rows, the level of close, Nissl stained; model rats loose arrangement of frontal cortex cells, deletion; model acupuncture group, Model EA group, form of paroxetine well hippocampus, frontal cortex cells close, color clarity.[Conclusions]1 According to behavioral test results, showing that the model group rats following chronic stress across the cell number in the erection of the number, weight gain and sugar intake to decrease, while acupuncture intervention can improve chronic stress in rats behavioral performance; model of chronic stress in rats proved successful and copied electric acupuncture acupuncture and rat model of chronic stress effectively. Increase in body weight in rats, the relative terms of acupuncture, acupuncture can help increase body weight of rats following chronic stress. In terms of improving the behavior, both acupuncture and electroacupuncture in rats across the cell number and increase in the number erected, in which the model rats in acupuncture group the rate of increase is relatively large. In the sugar experiment, model and model acupuncture group EA group have increased sugar intake, including the model rats in acupuncture group the rate of increase is relatively large.2. Acupuncture and EA can make rats following chronic stress in CRH, ACTH and CORT levels were significantly decreased, suggesting that depression can be reduced HPA axis in rats a variety of endocrine factors play a role in the treatment of depression. Worthy of study, the acupuncture group relative model, the model EA group CRH, ACTH and CORT levels decreased more significantly, suggesting that:EA better regulation of the HPA axis in rats with chronic stress function, hyperthyroidism can The HPA axis tends to normal.
