Stereotypic behavior is a fixed, repetitive behavior, which is one of the three criteria to diagnose the autism. Stereotypic behavior troubled the life and study of autistic children, but also caused the children's social interaction more difficult. Therefore, taking effective intervention to solve stereotyped behavior intervention is very important. In addition there are majority of autistic children with sensory integration dysfunction, which major intervention is sensory integration training. In view of there are many similarities in the form of behavior with the stereotyped behavior and sensory integration dysfunction and for exploring the relationship between stereotypic behavior and sensory integration ability, also for analysising the feasibility of using sensory integration training to intervene stereotyped behavior, the author used literature study and experimental method to research. This article did literature searching for definition, classification, assessment, mechanism and intervention methods ofstereotyped behavior of autistic children. The results showed that there is a relationship between sensory integration ability and stereotypic behaviour, that sensory stimulation may be one of intrinsic motivation of the stereotypical behaviour, and emotional anxiety caused by sensory integration disorders also will increase the frequency of stereotypic behaviour. The experimental used the ABA experimental design of case study method. The subject of this experimental is two pre-school autistic children. The experimental was taking sensory integration training to intervene the steretyped behaviour in the form of single-subject for three months. By comparing the data of the baseline and follow-up period, the experiment is assumed sensory integration training to improve sensory integration capacity, corresponding to reduce stereotyped behavior of the subjects. Score of sensory integration ability is the independent variable, the value of stereotyped behavior is dependent variable.Intervention results showed that sensory integration ability of the two subjects were improved, of which the progress of tactile function and vestibular function is most obvious. By observed and recorded the occurrence of stereotypic behavior, comparisonded the data of baseline and follow-up period shows:(1) The number and length of time of stereotyped behavior of Case A is significantly reduced, also the form of behavior had a significant change.(2) The incidence of stereotyped behavior of Case B did not change significantly(3)The stereotyped behavior with sensory function changed the most obvious.Research conclusions:(1)There is a link between sensory integration ability and stereotypic behavior.(2)Sensory integration training can improve the stereotyped behavior of preschool child with autism to some extent.(3)The steretypic behavior with sensory function improved the most obviously.(4)The factors which affect the effect of intervention need further study.
