Influence Of Acupuncture To Osteoporosis' Pain Clinical Observation Research

Osteoporosis is a common and easily ignored metabolic diseases. With high risk, it has been listed as one of three major senile diseases by WHO. Pain is the most obvious and direct symptoms in patients with osteoporosis, one of the most important reasons for declining-the quality of life and asking for treatment related to the incidence of fractures. Osteoporosis causes pain primarily because of excessive bone turnover and increasing bone resorption. The bone pain over the whole body is caused by the destruction and disappearance of the trabeculae and destruction of cortical bone under the periosteum in the process of bone resorption. And the pain mostly occurres to the low back clinically.At present, western medicine treat osteoporosis with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, calcitonin, bisphosphonatesand so on. Influence of stomach, have the possibility of canceration, digestion function decline cause not widely accepted by the aged. Traditional Chinese Medicine treats it as kidney deficiency, and for the treatment, mainly used herbal medicine. But the effect is slow, not easy to take it and spread to the public. Through treatment by acupuncture, it has particular advantage. The biggest advantage could be the high possibility of avoiding the side effects. So the research on acupuncture of osteoporosis has the important significanceObjective:By taking hermetically sealed envelope clinical research methods to observe and evaluate the acupuncture of osteoporosis pain.Methods:From July 2010 to April 2011, to select 60 osteoporosis pain who meet the inclusion criteria from Third Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and divide them 1:1 into treatment group and control group by simple random method.According to exclusion criteria, there are all 60 cases included, of which 30 cases compose treatment group, the rest 30 cases compose the control group. One week later, by observing the changes of the two groups indicators of visual analog scores (VAS) and Clinical Observation on Treatment to evaluate the clinical effect. To establish the database and then take statistical analysis with SPSS16.0. To analyze numerical variable with t test, categorical variable with X2 test and correction X2 test (or the exact probability method), ranked data with rank sum test.The test standard a is 0.05 and to take Bilateral test.Results:The general information including gender, age, course of disease, Clinical Observation of the two groups, there is no significant difference (P> 0.05). The baselines of the two groups are basically the same before treatment. The two groups indicators of visual analog scores (VAS), there is no significant difference (P> 0.05). To compare visual analog scores (VAS)before and after the treatment of the two groups, there is significant difference (p<0.05). It shows that there has been significant improvement after taking acupuncture treatment and calcitonin drug treatment.To compare the figures of osteoporosis before and after the treatment of the two groups, there is significant difference (p<0.05) of the treatment group. It shows that there is significant improvement of the quality of life after taking acupuncture treatment. There is significant difference(p<0.05) of the treatment group. It shows that there is significant improvement of the quality of life after taking usual treatment of western medicine.To compare the scores of osteoporosis sickness before and after the treatment of the two groups and the scores after treatment between the two groups, there is no significant difference(p>0.05). It shows that the quality of life of the treatment group as the same as the control group.Conclusion:Acupuncture is an effective method to osteoporosis pain. It can improve the figures of visual analog scores (VAS) and reduce symptoms significantly. It can improve the clinical integrated effect.
