Objective:To observing the clinical efficacy of Nipple-areola complex sparing mastectomy and immediate breast reconstruction with prosthesis implantation in early breast cancer and some special benign breast disease.Methods:From April 2009 to December 2010, 22 patients with early breast cancer and 17 cases of benign breast disease underwent Nipple-areola complex sparing mastectomy (with or without axillary lymph node dissection), and immediate breast reconstruction with prosthesis implantation through areola incision or lateral incision. All patients were followed so far.Results:All of the patients underwent the surgery successfully, according to AJCC staging, Among the 22 patients with early breast cancer, 9 of them were belong to the stage 0, 5 were stage I, and 8 were stage II. Patients'satisfaction with breast reconstruction was up to 97.1%, comparing with modified radical mastectomy the incidence of complications and the start time of chemotherapy, there was no statistical significance.Conclusions:Nipple-areola complex sparing mastectomy and immediate breast reconstruction with prosthesis implantation were suitable for early breast cancer, fibrocystic breast hyperplasia or plasma cell mastitis. Because the surgery could ensure cure of the disease and keep the patient's physical beauty. It is a safe, effective, simple treatment.
