Objective:The study is using Augmented Erchen Decoction in treatment of infantile autumn diarrhea of spleen deficiency and dampness Encumbered syndrome, following a randomized, controlled clinical efficacy of the principles of scientific validation,to seek medical treatment of infantile autumn diarrhea in more effective ways to further confirm the spleen dampness Modified Erchen Treatment of advantages and characteristics of the disease, Chinese medicine treatment of the disease as provide new ideas and ways of treatment, and Chinese medicine treatment of infantile autumn diarrhea provide the basis for the popularization and application. Methods:The 60 cases of the study was from March in 2009 to March in 2011 in Guangzhou Chinese Medicine Hospital pediatric clinic and hospital patients, aged 6 months-2 years of age, using the randomized controlled trials, divided into two groups-a treatment Group and a control group, treatment groups:control group=1:1.The treatment group:Augmented Erchen Decoction, the control group:montmorillonite powder. Course of 3 days and observed 2 groups before and after treatment of children with stool frequency, color, character, amount and smell of defecation and body temperature, vomiting, loss of appetite, mental status changes, stool rotavirus antigen, liver and kidney function. The study compare the total score of clinical symptoms before and after treatment between two groups and inside the same group, and match the effective rate, the total effective rate and the proportion of stool rotavirus antigen which turns negative after the treatment. Faithfully record any adverse reactions occuring symptoms/adverse events during the course of clinical experiment and gave safe assess. All data are mean±standard deviation (x±s), measured data groups were analyzed by using two independent samples T-test;before and after treatment data using paired samples T-test; counted data using x2 test; paired rating information using symbols rank test. All statistical analysis are completed by SPSS17.0 package.Results:1. Before and after treatment, two groups of children have a comparison in stool frequency, each group P<0.05,the difference is statistically significant;between the two groups, two groups of patients before treatment, P>0.05, the difference is not statistically significant; treatment groups with P=0.03<0.05,the difference is statistically significant.2. Before and after treatment, two groups of children have a comparison in total score of symptoms, each group P<0.05, the difference is statistically significant; between the two groups, two groups of patients before treatment, P>0.05, the difference is not statistically significant;treatment groups with P=0.004<0.05,the difference is statistically significant.3. After the treatment, two groups of children have a comparison in stool rotavirus antigen test, P=0.038<0.05,the difference is statistically significant.4. Alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, creatinine,Urea nitrogen of treatment group of 15 randomly selected cases before and after treatment, the results are normal, have no significant differences.5.Two groups have a comparison in the curative effect of the clinical disease, significant efficiencies were:the treatment group is 83.33%, the control group is 60.00%, by x2 test, P<0.05, total effective rate were as follows:the treatment group is 93.33%, the control group is 73.33%, by x2 test, P<0.05, The two results have significant differences.6.Two groups have a comparison in the curative effect of the clinical syndromes, significant efficiencies were:the treatment group is 90.00%, the control group is 66.67%, by x2 test, P<0.05,:total effective rate is as follows: the treatment group is 96.67%, the control group is 80.00%, by x2 test, P<0.05, The two results had significant differences.7. Adverse drug reactions were not found, the differences were not significant. Conclusion:1.The two groups of Augmented Erchen Decoction treatment and montmorillonite powder can improve symptoms of infantile autumn diarrhea of syndrome of spleen deficiency and dampness Encumbering, reduce stool frequency, speed up the stool rotavirus antigen to turn negative, and the treatment group was superior than the control group.2. After the treatment, the group of Augmented Erchen Decoction is higher and significantly better than the montmorillonite powder group in significant efficiencies and total effective rate. The treatment group has significant advantages in reducing stool frequency, improving stool, increasing appetite. Chinese medicine treatment of infantile autumn diarrhea proved to be an effective and safe method, and augmented erchen decoction in treatment of infantile autumn diarrhea of spleen deficiency and dampness Encumbered syndrome had significant effect. It is also confirmed that the treatment of strengthenting spleen and reducing dampness have advantages and characteristics.3. The follow-up found no complications in this group of patients. It may be related to the interference of Chinese medicine, and this issue needs to be in-depth research and observation in future.4. Augmented erchen decoction is sweet and light, non-pungent, and has low price, so it is easy to be accepted by children and parents. This group has good adherence in the treatment, and adverse reaction does not appear. It is explained that augmented erchen decoction in treating infantile autumn diarrhea has promotion and prospects, worthy of further research and development.
