Measurement And Study Of Dental Model On Normal Occlusion Of Baoan Teenagers In China

Objective:The purpose of this study is to research the characteristics of normal occlusion of Baoan teenagers in China and provide the basis of the dental measurement norms in that nationality by measuring the dental models of individual normal occlusion. This study can provide the references for diagnoses, treatments and scientific researches in orthodontics by analyzing in different sex and the differences between Baoan and Mongolian, Uygur, Tibetan, Zhuang, Kazak, Yi and Han,etc.Methods:172 cases of normal occlusion dental model of Baoan teenagers in China,97 boys (mean age 15.23 years old)and 75 girls (mean age 14.96 years old),were selected. Eight indicators in the upper and lower jaw of dental model were measured by Electronic Digital Caliper, Triangle ruler, special Triangle ruler and divider. In front tooth and tooth material of upper and lower jaw, the center height of clinical crown, Bolton index, Pont index, the index of dental arch, Howes value, the height of the palate index and the curve of Spee were figured out. The characteristics of normal occlusion of Baoan teenagers in China were analyzed with the statistic software of SPSS12.0 and compared with that in different sex and other nationalities studied by domestic researchers.Results:1.The dental measurement norms of normal occlusion of Baoan teenagers in China were established, and the characteristics of normal occlusion of them are consistent with the general law. Some of the nonns were different comparing with other domestic nationalities (Mongolian, Uygur, Tibetan, Zhuang, Kazak, Yi and Han, etc).2.The crown width and crown height, the width and length of dental arch, tooth material and the width and length of basal arch of Baoan teenagers in China are different in sex. All of them in boys are larger than those in girls. The height of the palate, the Bolton index, Pont index, and Howes value are no gender difference. And the results are consistent with that of other domestic researchers.3. The tooth material, the dental arch and the basal arch of Baoan teenagers in China are correlation, but not high. Conclusions:1. The crown width and crown height, the width and length of dental arch, tooth material and the width and length of basal arch in Baoan boys are larger than those in girls.2. The measurements of dental model on normal occlusion of Baoan teenagers are different comparing with other nationalities.
