| Objectives:The primary aim of this study wants to examine the relationship between anterior disc displacement of temporomandibular joint and unilateral mastication. Method:Randomized controlled trial, survey and clinical examine. Result:There were significant differences between unilateral mastication and bilateral mastication in anterior disc displacement of temporomandibular joint (x2=10.865, P<0.01). There were no significant differences between left mastication and bilateral mastication in left anterior disc displacement (x2=1.276, P>0.01). There were significant differences between right mastication and bilateral mastication in left anterior disc displacement (x2=11.978, P<0.01). There were significant differences between left mastication and bilateral mastication in right anterior disc displacement (X2=8.325, P<0.01). There were no significant differences between right mastication and bilateral mastication in right anterior disc displacement (x2=0.928, P>0.01). Conclusion:Unilateral mastication is a risk factor in anterior disc displacement of the temporomandibular joint and have more impact on the contralateral side than the ipsilateral side. |
