| Objective Analyze MRI characteristics of bone erosions in hands and wrists of RA patients to evaluate the values of MRI in the diagnosis for rheumatoid arthritis and study the characteristics of erosions in RA.Methods Eighty patients who took hand and wrist MRI examination from January 2009 to May 2010 were selected randomly in this study. All patients had laboratory examinations in a week before or after they had MRI examination without any medical invention. Patients who met the diagnostic criteria of RA were scored according to OMERACT system. Patients were divided into groups by gender and ages respectively. Bone erosion scores were analyzed using Mann-Whitney.Results Fifty four patients were diagnosed as RA, and 45 patients had bone erosions. Two hundred and twenty seven bone erosions were found. Thirteen bone erosions were found in the most sever case. The most common bone erosion in wrist was found in the capitate, followed by triangular bone. The head of the metacarpal bone was most common in hands, followed by the second metacarpal bone. No statistic difference was found in the gender and ages. Conclusions MRI could provide the intuitive diagnostic evidence of early bone erosions in RA. Gender and ages show no differences in bone erosions. Objective To evaluate the value of MRI and clinic manifestations and laboratory in the diagnosis and prognosis of rheumatoid arthritis. Methods Eighty patients who took hand and wrist MRI examination from January 2009 to May 2010 were selected randomly in this study. All patients had laboratory examinations in a week before or after they had MRI test without medical inventions. Patients who met the diagnostic criteria were scored according to OMERACT system. Patients were divided into groups by disease duration, morning stiffness, RF, ACCP, ASO and ESR respectively. Bone erosion scores were analyzed using Mann-Whitney.Results Fifty four patients were diagnosed as RA, and 45 patients had bone erosions. Two hundred and twenty seven bone erosions were found. Thirteen bone erosions were found in the most sever case. Statistic differences were found in the age, duration, ACCP, ASO and ESR.Conclusions MRI provides the intuitive diagnostic evidence of bone erosion in RA. ACCP, ASO and ESR may indicate bone erosion in a certain degree. |
