In this article, we study examined the characteristic and nature of the CeO2 nanoparticles. Then we studied the cellular uptake of CeO2 nanoparticles by using flow cytometry. Studied the effect of CeO2 nanoparticles on proliferation, antioxidative activities as well as some biological effects by using method of MTT, SOD and GSH activity assay and flow cytometry.And the results show that:1. The results indicate that the Nano-CeO2 are distributed uneven and there is large reunite in distilled water and RPMI 1640 medium. Large reunite of Nano-CeO2 in distilled water stronger than RPMI 1640 medium; the purity of the prducts is higher.2. Nano-CeO2 could be via the membranes of A549 cells. Nano-CeO2 are located in the cytoplasm by random distribution.3. Studied the biological effects of Nano-CeO2 with different concentrations on A549 cells. At cell level, all of these three sizes(30nm, 50nm and 300nm) can promote A549 cells proliferation. Nano-CeO2 have the promoting multiplication effect towards oxidative damage of A549 cells; 30 nm and 50 nm had a pronounced effect on the activity of A549 cells. We suggest that promoting multiplication effect may be exerting its effect on A549 cells by clearing oxygen free radical.This paper obtained results suggest that: Nano-CeO2 are large reunite in distilled RPMI 1640 medium, could be via endocytosis into the membranes of A549 cells. Nano-CeO2 can eliminate free radical, so promote A549 cells proliferation and have effects of potential protective on A549 cells. But the signal pathways and molecular mechanisms are remains further study.
